Ryan Bang and his fiancée, Paola Huyong, had a heartfelt conversation with the TV host’s Korean mom Shin, in which the couple opened up about their plans after their wedding.
The three of them had a talk while dining at the TV host’s restaurant, as seen in a vlog on the latter’s YouTube channel last Thursday, July 24.
“How many grandchildren do you want?” Ryan asked his mom, who then answered two. Shin explained she prefers only two as she does not want Huyong to have a hard time.
Shin asked Huyong as well how many kids she wanted, and the latter responded, “Well, I want a big family. Maximum of three [kids].”
Ryan, for his part, joked that he wanted to father 12 children and build a football team.
Veering away from the quips, the three of them then spoke about Shin’s sentiment about her son having a Filipino fiancée.
“She’s okay with me having a Filipino wife because I live here… She also saw how kind, smart, polite and respectful Paola is,” Ryan said, translating into Filipino what his mom said.
During their conversation, Shin also advised the soon-to-be-married couple to respect and protect each other, and to ensure that happiness reigns in their future home.
Shin stressed to her son as well that he needs to work harder to provide for his wife and their own family.
“We will help each other, definitely,” Huyong then vowed to the TV host’s mom.
Shin then addressed Huyong, asking her to always stick with Ryan and for the two of them to stay together despite hardships.
Ryan and Huyong, who got engaged in 2024, are reportedly set to hold their main wedding in Manila in 2026. /ra
