Mika Salamanca is still reeling from her “Pinoy Big Brother (PBB)” win, as she recalled the time when she brought a few clothes with the belief that she would be evicted early.
The actress-content creator and her co-duo, Brent Manalo (or BreKa), were named the big winners of the “PBB: Celebrity Collab” edition at the show’s big night on Saturday, July 5.
Hours after her win, Salamanca took to her Instagram page on Sunday, July 5, to share that she brought a few clothes before her “PBB” journey, as she thought that she would be booted from the Bahay ni Kuya early on.
“Pumasok ako [sa] PBB na may dalang konting damit at pangarap lang, kaya hindi ko inexpect na aabot ako sa dulo, ‘cause [what do you mean] umabot talaga TAYO sa dulo?! NO WAYYYYY, legit (I entered “PBB” with just a few clothes and dreams. I didn’t expect I would reach this far, because what do you mean I reached the end? No way, legit),” she said.

The former housemate added that she auditioned for a spot in the reality show back then, but was unable to pass the auditions.
“[Ten] years ago di ako pinalad na makapasok sa PBB, siguro dahil hindi pa ko ready. I’m a firm believer that when plans don’t go your way, it’s because God has a bigger one, at ito yun!” she said.
Touching on her recent milestone, Salamanca said “being herself” was her ticket to victory while dedicating her win to fellow “PBB” alums Shuvee Etrata, Klarisse de Guzman, Bianca de Vera, and Dustin Yu.
“Thank you for letting me reintroduce myself. Words are not enough to explain how overwhelmed I am sa lahat ng sumalubong na pagmamahal sa amin. Maraming salamat po! Araw-araw po akong maghahanap ng paraan para maibalik sa inyo ang pagmamahal na natatanggap namin. KAYO PO ANG TUNAY NA BIG WINNER!” she said.
(Thank you for letting me reintroduce myself. Words are not enough to explain how overwhelmed I am with the love I received. Thank you very much. I will always look for a way to bring back the love that we received. You are the real big winners.)
Aside from her loved ones, friends, and colleagues, the content creator promised Manalo that she would stay by his side even though they had already left the “PBB” house.
“To Brent, welcome to the outside world, partner. If not for you, this wouldn’t have been possible. From your manifestation sa first duo formation to being the final duo to being the first duo big winner!” she wrote.
“You really made this journey easier by carrying my emotions with me. You never made me feel na mabigat yung baggage ko kasi lagi kang ready na sumalo. And kahit nasa labas na tayo, walang magbabago (You never made me feel that my baggage is heavy because you’re ready to carry them. Even if we’re out of the house, nothing will change). I got you. You got me,” she added.
Salamanca’s post earned the support of her fellow housemates and celebrity friends in the comments, including Manalo, Ranollo, Ashley, de Vera, de Leon, Benedict Cua, Xyriel Manabat, Bella Racelis, G22’s Jaz, and Samantha Bernardo.
