The 2025 Miss Supranational pageant concluded with Eduarda Braum claiming Brazil’s first victory in the international competition. But another big winner is the Philippines, extending the longest active placement streak in the global tilt to 13 editions.
Filipino bet Tarah Valencia finished third runner-up at the culmination of the pageant’s 16th edition held in Nowy Sacz, Malopolska, Poland, on June 27 (June 28 in Manila), sustaining the country’s streak that started in 2012 when Elaine Kay Moll also posted the same placement.
Moll, who was first runner-up in the 2011 Binibining Pilipinas pageant, was appointed to compete in that year’s Miss Supranational pageant after the national contest acquired the franchise to the global tilt. The succeeding year, Mutya Johanna Datul became the first Asian woman to win the international crown.
No other Filipino woman has ever captured the Miss Supranational title, but Pauline Amelinckx came so close to duplicating Datul’s feat when she finished first runner-up in 2023. She earned her ticket to the international contest after placing in the Top 3 of the 2023 Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
Here are the Filipino women who earned placements in the Miss Supranational pageant:
2012 – Elaine Kay Moll, third runner-up
2013 – Mutya Johanna Datul, Miss Supranational
2014 – Yvethe Santiago, Top 20
2015 – Rogelie Catacutan, Top 20
2016 – Joanna Eden, Top 25
2017 – Chanel Olive Thomas, Top 10
2018 – Jehza Huelar, Top 10
2019 – Resham Saeed, Top 25
2021 – Dindi Pajares, Top 12
2022 – Alison Black, Top 24
2023 – Pauline Amelinckx, first runner-up
2024 – Alethea Ambrosio, Top 12, Miss Supranational Asia and Oceania
2025 – Tarah Valencia, third runner-up
Coming in close is India with 12 consecutive placements, sustained by 2025 delegate Ayushree Malik’s Top 24 finish. The South Asian nation started its Miss Supranational streak in 2014 when it posted its first victory through Asha Bhat.
But it beats the Philippines by being the only country, so far, to snag multiple wins. Srinidhi Shetty became the second Indian woman to be proclaimed Miss Supranational when she won the title just two years after Bhat brought home the title.
With 13 consecutive placements in Miss Supranational, the Philippines surpassed its own 12-year placement streak in the Miss Universe pageant, that started with Venus Raj in 2010 and ended with Beatrice Luigi Gomez in 2021.
Another international pageant where the Philippines currently has an active streak is the Miss Intercontinental contest. Since Koreen Medina finished as third runner-up in 2013, the country has consistently posted placements extending to 11 editions with Alyssa Redondo’s second runner-up finish last year.
The Philippines also has an active placement streak in The Miss Globe pageant. It started with Anne Colis’ victory in 2015, and extended to 10 straight editions by Jasmin Bungay’s second runner-up finish in the most recent edition held last year.
The country also has active placement streaks in the Manila-based competitions Miss Earth and Miss Asia Pacific International, currently at eight consecutive placements in both global pageants. In neighboring Malaysia’s Miss Tourism International contest, the Philippines’ active streak is now five years long. /ra
