Klarisse de Guzman comes out as bisexual, reveals partner of 4 years

Klarisse de Guzman was ecstatic to be finally “free” after she revealed that she is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and that she has been in a relationship with her girlfriend Trina for four years now.
The singer, who is currently inside the “Pinoy Big Brother” house, made the revelation during the show’s episode aired on Wednesday, April 2.
De Guzman opened up about her sexuality as part of a special task where the housemates were asked to introduce themselves on a deeper level by sharing the misconceptions and truths about them.
“Tingin ko ito na ‘yung time para sabihin sa inyong lahat and to tell the world that I’m not straight. I am bi [bisexual],” she said.
“Yung kinekwento ko sa inyo na may four years akong partner — yes, I have a partner for four years. Her name is Trina,” she further revealed.
De Guzman said she did not expect she would come out during her stint in the reality show, but that she just felt courageous to do it.
The singer also noted that her late dad knew about her being bisexual, and that her mom currently stays with Trina.
“I guess, kumportable na akong sabihin sa inyong lahat, with Michelle Dee pa, di ba?” she added, referring to the celebrity house guest who also came out as bisexual in 2023.
“Sobrang swerte ko lang talaga kasi tanggap ako ng parents ko. Hindi ako nahirapan sa phase na ‘yon. Even most of my relatives, alam [nila],” she said. “But bilang celebrity nga, hindi ko pa nasasabi sa work ko.”
De Guzman then declared, “I am proud! Love wins!”, earning cheers from the housemates.
In a separate conversation with Big Brother, De Guzman admitted that she initially kept her sexuality a secret because she was scared to be judged.
“Natatakot po ako na baka hindi po ako maintindihan ng ibang tao, na baka magbago ang tingin sa akin ng mga sumusuporta sa akin or maapektuhan po ‘yung career ko,” she said.
“Napakasarap po sa pakiramdam na — ito pala ‘yung feeling ng malaya. Kumbaga free,” she added. “Sana tanggap pa rin po ako ng mga tao. ‘Yun lang po ang prayers ko.”
