MTRCB calls for support for 50th MMFF
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) urged Filipino families to show their support for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entries.
The review board underscored the vital role of local films in showcasing Filipino creativity and culture, with its chairperson and CEO Diorella “Lala” Sotto-Antonio regarding the annual event as a platform to celebrate the achievements of Filipino filmmakers and strengthen the local film industry.
“The MMFF is more than just an annual film festival because this is also a celebration of Filipino artistry and creativity,” Sotto-Antonio said.
“By supporting this year’s film fest, we do not only enjoy quality entertainment but also help sustain and grow our film industry,” she added, with the agency noting how this year’s films “reflect a rich tapestry of genres and themes.”
Sotto-Antonio also reiterated the importance of responsible viewing habits, encouraging parents to guide younger audiences.
