Joyce Pring, Juancho Triviño on staying fit: Consistency is key
Celebrity couple Juancho Triviño and Joyce Pring’s union has been blessed with two kids, Alonso Eliam and Agnes Eleanor, but parenthood has not stopped them from engaging in physical fitness activities that maintain their health and well-being.
While many parents struggle to pursue fitness because of the demands associated with raising children, the Kapuso actor and host both cite their offsprings as the main reason behind sustaining an active and healthy lifestyle.
“At first, I thought it was a hindrance, but then now I realize it’s actually an encouragement for my fitness goals,” Pring told INQUIRER.net at the sidelines of the press launch for the first-ever running event of a popular donut chain held in Makati City on Oct. 22.
“Now it appears that my purpose to stay fit and healthy is deeper. It used to be ‘oh, I just want to look good, or want my clothes to fit better.’ But now it’s really ‘I want to stay strong for myself and for my family,’” she shared.
Triviño said their children serve as “encouragement and inspiration” for him. “Why I want continue with my fitness journey is because I want my kids to take after it. And we want to have a very active lifestyle for them also,” he explained.

Even if it’s just 10 or 15 minutes of movement, then just focus on consistency. Be consistent for two weeks, and then eventually you’ll find your groove, and then you can increase the quantity or length of your workout,” she said.
And while she is a hands-on mom when it comes to the family’s nutrition, Pring said she does not scrimp on indulgence such as sweet treats. “I cook most of the food at home. I really want to be mindful about planning our meals for the week. I make sure everything’s balanced, we have protein, fiber, carbs. But at the same time, Juancho and I have such a sweet tooth, so complete elimination will not work for us,” she said.
“We really love getting our treats, having that balanced life. You can’t keep on restricting yourself, because you will really look for it. So for us, it’s really just about finding the right portions, being mindful,” she added.
Pring is also glad that their fitness consciousness has rubbed off on their children. “We’ve always been an active family. We like going out, we like going for walks. Now we see that our children are healthier, they seldom catch colds. And growing up, that’s gonna be their environment, so that’s really important,” she said.
