Bela Padilla, JC Santos to reunite for ‘100 Awit Para Kay Stella’

Bela Padilla and JC Santos are set to reprise their roles as Stella and Fidel, respectively, in the upcoming “100 Awit Para Kay Stella,” the much anticipated sequel of the 2017 romance-drama film “100 Tula Para Kay Stella.”
Padilla recently took to Instagram to re-post the art card announcing the sequel and captioned it with, “We heard you [red heart emoji].”

The actress-host also shared some clips and photos from the first movie and shared a few stories behind the filming of the scenes.
“Never in my life have I been more… sure. [teary-eyed emoji] #100AwitParaKayStella,” she wrote in her caption.

One of the clips Padilla posted was the famous “Bakit ngayon mo lang sinabi sakin?” (Why are you telling me this only now?) scene from the first film where she and Santos engaged in an emotional confrontation about their feelings.

And to this day, only JC and I (and maybe our audioman if he was listening to us in between takes) heard Fidel and Stella’s thoughts. And I knew from this moment that I would always work with JC. And we would always have each other’s backs,” shared the actress in her caption.
Padilla also showed the text exchange between her and Santos talking about agreeing to return for the sequel.

Released in 2017, “100 Tula Para Kay Stella” premiered on the 1st Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino and garnered ₱80 million in the box office, per Viva Films, in the box office, making it the leading film among the twelve entries at the festival at the time.
“100 Tula Para Kay Stella” tells the story of a college student who attempts to write 100 poems dedicated to the woman he loves, Stella. The upcoming sequel, titled “100 Awit Para Kay Stella, is set to follow the lives of Fidel and Stella more than a decade after the events of the first installment’s ending.
Aside from Padilla and Santos, director Jason Paul Laxamana will also return to write and direct the sequel.
As of writing, the release date of the second installment and the full cast line-up have not been disclosed.
