Maiqui Pineda ‘no issues’ on Robi Domingo wanting to have kid soon
Maiqui Pineda clarified that she and husband Robi Domingo are on the same page in wanting to have a child soon, in response to netizens saying the TV host’s wish for a child was “insensitive and selfish” as his wife suffers from an autoimmune condition.
The netizen remarks were in reaction to Domingo’s earlier 35th birthday video, in which he wished for Pineda’s “sickness to be gone” and for them to be able to pursue their plan of having a child in 2025.
Pineda has been diagnosed with dermatomyositis, a rare autoimmune disease.
“Reading your message on your birthday makes me feel sad for your wife,” one @fabhailgail commented on Domingo’s post. “It seems like her inability to fulfill your wish of having a child might make her feel like a failure, even though it’s out of her control.”
“I feel like this is too insensitive. Mas mape-pressure si Maiqui na magbuntis, e paano kung hindi talaga kaya? Consider her feelings naman, ” Instagram user @kimmy_mons stated.

Asked how she felt about the post, Pineda said, “No issues at all. I’ve openly mentioned it here before but he has a bigger reach. It’s both our goals, our plans, and our wishes but we acknowledge the reality of things, and have chosen to trust in God’s plans and timings instead.”
“But we are hopeful! Just have to wait a bit and do some work for now,” she added.
She then expressed her gratitude and appreciation for those sending prayers and support, further noting that she does not feel pressured to be pregnant.
“But I know it’s what I want so I’m just doing what I can to hopefully make that happen one day,” she stated.
Pineda also gave an update on her health, saying her medicines have lessened and that she is set to undergo another treatment in October.
Domingo and Pineda got engaged in 2022, then tied the knot in January 2024. The pair first revealed Pineda’s condition to the public in 2023.
