Carlos Yulo’s mother Angelica invited to join Mrs. Philippines pageant
Angelica Yulo — the mother of two-time Olympic gymnast Carlos Yulo — has been invited to join the Mrs. Philippines 2025 pageant, according to the organization’s president Erika Joy Santos.
Santos told reporters on the sidelines of the Mrs. Philippines press conference that Angelica is welcome to join the pageant.
She also extended an invitation to talk with the athlete’s mother over coffee.
“I really wish to speak with her. Maybe I can be somehow a relief to her, kahit coffee lang (even just a cup of coffee)… She’s very welcome to be joining the Mrs. Philippines 2025. Why not?” she asked.

The beauty queen also said she doesn’t want to meddle in the Yulo family drama when asked about the matter, but she advised Angelica to “be patient” and allow God to take over their situation.

“Mga nanay tayo. Hindi natin kayang tiisin ang ating mga anak. (We’re mothers. We can’t stand not being with our kids.) In God’s time,” she said.
“I don’t know the facts. I don’t want my feelings to meddle with the ongoing feud with them,” she noted.
When asked what parenting advice she can give to Angelica instead, Santos said the athlete’s mother should accept that “life must go on,” even though their kids would decide to go on their own paths.
“You know how much I cried when my son went to live in Manila? I cried a lot for a month. It’s so hard to be separated from a child you delivered and raised into this world for so long. Then, aalis na (they’re leaving). It’s really painful,” she recalled.
“But you know, life must go on. Ganun talaga ang buhay. (That’s life.) Someday, our children will be independent and be separated from us. So, maaga pa lang, tanggapin mo na. (As early as now, you accept it.) But it’s still hard,” she continued.
The ongoing feud between the Olympic gymnast and his family — particularly, his mother Angelica — has been making waves on social media.
Also involved in the feud is Carlos’ girlfriend Chloe San Juan, who earlier stressed that she wants to stand up for herself and the athlete.
Meanwhile, Santos, for her part, was crowned Mrs. Philippines 2023 in September of last year.
