In the time of glee
MANILA, Philippines—Glee Club has never looked so cool until Hollywood gave birth to popular musical series such as Disney’s High School Musical and Fox’s recent musical craze Glee.
So if you have a theater baby at home who’s itching to be on stage, there’s no better place than Philippine Educational Theater Association’s (PETA) Summer Theater Arts Workshop to satisfy your kids’ artsy cravings.
Theater, singing, and dance workshops run all summer, and whether you have a budding Rachel Berry who’s longing to belt out a big, brassy, Broadway-style number; a young Quinn Fabray, who longs to dance across the stage; or a mini Kurt Hummel who can’t wait to sing-dance-act, there’s a big choice of Musical Theater classes for everyone.
This summer, PETA provides professional training in Musical Theater for promising young artists by affording them the opportunity to study with industry composers and directors.
Using the Basic Integrated Theater Arts Approach, students learn under a holistic module wherein they are given ample tools to become acquainted with various art disciplines such as music, dance, acting, writing and visual arts.
PETA’s Musical Theater For Young People (Ages 13-21) course aims to tap into the participants’ musicality through improvisational theater and musical composition, elements of a musical performance, all in a fun and exciting approach towards young people. The course is from April 28 to May 24, Monday to Friday (1 p.m.- 5 p.m.).
