Janine Gutierrez on Jericho Rosales’ dating confirmation: ‘It’s been fun’

Janine Gutierrez echoed that she and her “Lavender Fields” co-star Jericho Rosales are indeed dating, saying that knowing him outside of work has been “fun.”
Speaking to reporters in a media junket via ABS-CBN News’ YouTube channel, Gutierrez couldn’t hold back a giggle when asked to react to Rosales’ revelation about their dating status.
Gutierrez said she was “super excited” to work with Rosales in the drama when told about Rosales’ remark that his interest in joining the drama, aside from its superb production team, was that he already had feelings for her.
“Sabi? Sabi? That’s sweet to hear. And I’m also super excited to be able to work with him. Actually, one of the things na sinabi ko sa manager kong si Tito Leo [Dominguez] before he passed away, na-pitch pa lang sa’kin ‘tong show. Sabi ko, si Jericho. Kwinento ko kay Echo the first time we met, ‘I’m so happy it’s you,’” she said.
(He said that? Did he say that? That’s sweet to hear. And I’m also super excited to be able to work with him. Actually, one of the things I said to my manager, Tito Leo Dominguez, before he passed away. The show was pitched to me and I asked if I would work with Jericho. I also told Echo the first time we met, ‘I’m so happy it’s you.)
The actress said she’s happy to join forces with Rosales in the drama, and getting to know him apart from work is a “bonus.”
“Lahat naman tayo, hinahangaan siya bilang artista so masaya na kasama ko siya as Tyrone and Iris. Bonus na rin na we get along din pala off-cam (All of us admire him as an actor. So I’m happy to work with him as Tyrone and Iris. It’s a bonus that we get along off-cam),” said Gutierrez.
“It’s been fun. It’s been fun getting to know him and hanging out with him outside of work,” she continued.
Gutierrez then said that she was happy that her mother, screen veteran Lotlot de Leon, had “nice things” to say about Rosales when asked about the actor seemingly getting the approval of de Leon.
“Grabe, ano pa bang kwinento niya. Dapat pagkatapos ng Iris trailer, meron ding recap ng Jericho junket (Wow! What more did he reveal? After Iris’ trailer, there must be a recap of Jericho’s junket),” she said while laughing.
“Edi masaya. Edi good kasi actually noong una silang nagkatrabaho sa scenes nila sa Atok, ‘yun ang unang shinoot sila. Nauna niyang nakatrabaho si Echo and she only had nice things to say about him so at least okay lahat,” she further added.
(Then it makes me happy. It’s good. Because they first worked together in their scenes in Atok. That’s what they shot first. She first worked with Echo and she only had nice things to say about him. At least, everything is okay.)
Rosales earlier made headlines after he revealed at a “Lavender Fields” junket that he and Gutierrez are dating. He also recalled meeting the actress’ family in a single day, where the pair visited a veterinary clinic and the launch of the latter’s brother Diego.
