An “Eat Bulaga” contestant became a hot topic online after exhibiting “inappropriate” behavior on air, leaving the hosts and audience confused.

On Wednesday, Aug. 7, during the “Peraphy Express” segment of the noontime show, Angelito Calida, a contestant chosen from the audience, showed “strange” behavior in the middle of his game after he unexpectedly walked toward “Singer Queen” Anne and tried to hug her.

Hosts Vic Sotto and Miles Ocampo stopped Calida and tried to talk him out of it. Prior to his “inappropriate” action, the contestant appeared “odd” as he wiggled his body and wasn’t responding well to the questions of the hosts before he even began playing the game. Calida was then replaced in the segment as the medical team attended to him.

In a statement, “Eat Bulaga” said that Calida felt an extreme “nervousness,” which led him to become “disoriented” during the game. In the Thursday episode of the noontime show, the hosts reminded their audience to let the management know whenever they feel something odd so the medic can attend to them.

Meanwhile, as the clip made the rounds online, netizens expressed their opinions regarding the incident.

“Actually, naisip ko talaga is panic attack. Bakit ko nasabi, kase I am someone diagnosed with GAD and manifestation ko is panic attack. My initial coping mechanism is to move around and shake off the panic kase buong body mo talaga manlalamig. Not sure lang why need nya yumakap,” wrote one X user.

“Di naman Cguro baliw…I’ve been with people with ASD,  pwedeng Meron din sya nun pero high functioning sya (mild or nasa spectrum sya)…Kasi sobra din yung pagtabi nya k Bossing kanina e..Hindi uso ang personal space sa kanya…or may mental health issues…,” pitched in another netizen.
