Ivana Alawi’s camp denies ‘Batang Quiapo’ exit due to ‘attitude problem’
The talent manager of Ivana Alawi said prior commitments prompted the actress’ nearing exit from the ABS-CBN TV series “Batang Quiapo,” dismissing rumors that she was removed from the show due to her “attitude problem.”
Through DJ Jhaiho’s “Showbiz Sidelines” segment of “Teleradyo Serbisyo” last July 8, talent manager Perry Lansigan responded to claims allegedly made by a certain personal assistant against Alawi.
The unnamed personal assistant apparently claimed that Alawi was often unavailable for tapings, and that she would abruptly leave the set despite pleas to extend her filming hours.
“…Kumakalat ngayon online na attitude itong si Ivana at kaya mawawala sa ‘Batang Quiapo’ ay dahil sa kanyang pag-aattitude,” DJ Jhaiho told Lansigan through a text message.
Lansigan, in response, explained, “From the very start… three months lang dapat talaga ang kanyang pagii-stay sa nasabing teleserye. Three months ang kanilang napagkasunduan at um-okay si Ivana.”

Lansigan noted that the talk between Alawi and the staff of the TV series happened sometime in August last year, during the height of the wedding celebration of former cast member Lovi Poe.
“Pero dahil nag-click ang tambalan ni Bubbles at ni Tanggol, na-extend nang na-extend at nadagdagan pa ng maraming taping,” Lansigan continued, referring to Alawi and lead star Coco Martin’s characters.
“Hanggang sa hindi na po kinaya ng schedule bilang meron din pong mga prior commitment si Ivana—mga shoots, vlogs, etc.—na na-oohan ng kanyang management. Hindi na kakayanin talaga ni Ivana,” the talent manager added.
Lansigan stressed that they had made several adjustments on Alawi’s prior commitments for her to attend to her responsibilities in “Batang Quiapo.”
Lansigan also belied claims that Alawi already had her last taping for the TV series, saying she still has taping schedules until Friday, July 12.
Alawi as well as the production of “Batang Quiapo” have yet to comment on the matter as of this writing.
