Geneva Cruz clarifies: No more romantic feelings for ex KC Montero
Geneva Cruz clarified that she doesn’t harbor romantic feelings for her ex-husband KC Montero anymore and instead, now sees him like family.
Days after reuniting on the “EXpecially for You” segment of the noontime show “It’s Showtime,” Cruz felt compelled to explain further why she cried during their appearance together on the noontime show’s segment.
On her Threads page on Sunday, May 5, Cruz said she’s happy with where she and Montero are now.
“People assume that because I cried on national TV, I still have romantic feelings for my ex. While it’s true that I do love him, it’s more like the love I have for my sisters and best friends — a familial love,” she said.
The actress then showed her support for Montero and his wife, former beauty queen Stephanie Dods, in her post, saying she hopes they would “live happily ever after.”

In a separate post, Cruz reflected that she’s perhaps meant to “create [her] own path instead of following a man,” a prospect that she considered to be “fun.”
“Perhaps women like me were born to be independent and self-sufficient, to buy and live in a house on a hill or on a beach, and be one with nature forever,” she said. “Maybe I am meant to create my own path instead of following a man… and grow old with my siblings and best friends. That sounds like a fun life to me, too.”
The actress admitted that there are moments she longed for a “comforting embrace” and a “gentle kiss,” as she said such loving gestures have an “absence” in her heart.
“Although… I do long for the comforting embrace of a warm hug, the tender touch of holding hands, and the sweet sensation of a gentle kiss. These gestures of affection have been absent for far too long, and their absence is felt deeply within my heart,” she said.
Cruz and Montero were married from 2004 to 2012. While she now said that she is grateful for his unconditional love, their divorce was finalized in 2012.
Montero has been married to Dods since September 2019, while Cruz got into relationships with non-showbiz partners Nikolaus Booth and Lee Paulsen, with whom she has a daughter named London.
