Joshua Garcia feigns hurt when Julia Barretto reveals her first onscreen kiss
Joshua Garcia got his ex-girlfriend Julia Barretto cackling when he feigned a hurt expression after the actress revealed that her first onscreen kiss was with her current boyfriend Gerald Anderson.
Despite working together as the JoshLia love team for five years, Garcia and Barretto revealed in a TV Patrol interview broadcast last April 24 that they never kissed onscreen.
“No,” Barretto said, in response when she was asked if she ever kissed Garcia onscreen. “He had his first onscreen kiss with someone else, and mine with someone else.”
Garcia then chimed in, saying his first kiss was with Janella Salvador. Meanwhile, Barretto said hers was shared with Anderson, who was later on believed to be the reason behind the breakup. Barretto and Anderson eventually started dating and confirmed their relationship.
This led to the actor to jokingly clutch his chest in mock pain, which had Barretto burst into laughter. “Sira ulo ka (You’re out of your mind),” she said giggling.

“Hindi tayo masyadong bad to each other, in fairness (We were not bad at each other),” Barretto told Garcia in the interview.
The actor said in response: “Ang dami naming na-share, ang dami naming nakita sa isa’t isa. Wala na kaming itatago, then magiging stranger kami? Edi olats naman ‘yun. D’un ako kumakapit, sa friendship naming dalawa.”
(We shared a lot. We saw different sides of each other. We had nothing to hide, then we’ll become strangers? It would be such a waste. That’s what I hold onto, our friendship.)
Garcia and Barretto, whose love team gave way to the JoshLia fandom, dated for two years before parting ways in 2019. The ex-couple will reunite in the upcoming film “Un/happy For You,” helmed by filmmaker Petersen Vargas.
Details on the plot and premiere date are yet to be announced, as of this writing.
