Filipino-Australian theater actress Abigail Adriano will lead the cast as Kim, a Vietnamese orphan who falls in love with an American GI named Chris (Nigel Huckle) against the backdrop of the Vietnam War in the 1970s.

Dario’s casting also made waves as she’s a member of the P-pop girl group Daydream.
Meanwhile, Anderson Bonita, Keone Buenaluz, Dylan De Ocampo, Enzo Isaac, and Cassidy Lorenzana were chosen to take on the role of Tam after auditions were held in January.
Despite being a minor character, Tam is the son of Kim and Chris in the musical.
‘Asian excellence’
Moore is also looking forward to bringing the role of the Engineer, who is the musical’s antagonist despite attempting to bring Kim and Chris together.
“This show is Asian excellence and this cast is giving Slay-Asian pride! Miss Saigon is a story that resonates with so many of us and our families so seeing all of us together, ready to tell this story, is really empowering,” he said in a release. “The spotlight is now on our community, and we are going to own the stage and tell our truth.”
The award-winning musical first opened at the West End (1989) and Broadway (1991) with the Philippines’ very own Lea Salonga starring as Kim.
