Halloween is bonding time for Derek and Elias

While Halloween is first and foremost a period dedicated to remembering loved ones who passed away, actor Derek Ramsay said it is also about spending fun times with members of his family, most especially with 5-year-old Elias.

The boy is Ellen’s son with former partner John Lloyd Cruz. Derek and Ellen got married in Nov. 11, 2021.

“Today is firstly about remembering our loved ones who have passed away, but the fun part every year is going trick or treating. Elias has been in my life for three years now. We’ve already celebrated two Halloweens together, and he would really dress up for it. He has already gotten his outfit for this year’s celebration a few weeks ago,” Derek told Inquirer Entertainment.

Always something going on

“Elias already decided what he wants to be, so we’ll be taking him around the village for trick-or-treating. We’re going to have a party here at home, too, and scare the kids. Every year was like that for two years,” Derek recalled. “We would always have something going on, whether it’s a small get-together with the family, scaring kids or just being part of the village trick-or-treating.”

Derek let on that he would be wearing a costume for Halloween, too, “since I also consider myself as a kid. You must have seen me on Instagram wearing a wig recently. I’m going to go as Thor. Elias is going to be a pharaoh. I’m just not sure yet what Ellen is going to be this year, but we will definitely all come out on Halloween night,” he declared. INQ
