TAPE regains access to ‘Eat Bulaga’ YouTube channel

TAPE Inc. lawyer Maggie Abraham-Garduque confirmed that the production company has finally regained access and control over the YouTube channel of “Eat Bulaga” after over three months.
In a statement sent to INQUIRER.net, Abraham-Garduque said TAPE had lost access to the noontime show’s YouTube account after its former employees left with the show’s original mainstays Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon (TVJ) in May without turning over the page’s email and password.
TAPE then coordinated with the platform and was eventually granted access “since as per records of YouTube, TAPE is the owner thereof because the receipts for creating it is under the name of TAPE and even the bank account linked to it is under TAPE.”
“Yes, I confirm that TAPE Inc. regained access to its YouTube account. You can now enjoy watching ‘Eat Bulaga’ again via YouTube,” Abraham-Garduque stated.
“This is very important to us dahil gusto rin namin makaabot ang ‘tulong at saya’ even to our online viewers. So sa ating mga Kapuso, please don’t forget to like and subscribe!” she added.

Article continues after this advertisementTAPE has since changed the banner photo of “Eat Bulaga’s” YouTube channel, featuring its new hosts Isko Moreno, Buboy Villar, Paolo Contis, and twins Mavy and Cassy Legaspi, among others. It also has the tagline “Tahanang Pinakamasaya,” a phrase from the noontime show’s new theme song.

INQUIRER.net has reached out to TVJ’s camp but they have yet to comment on the matter, as of writing.
TAPE was earlier granted a 10-year renewal of registration for the “Eat Bulaga” trademark by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), which TVJ lawyer Enrique dela Cruz Jr. regarded as just “ministerial” on the part of the agency.
TAPE received the certification of registration renewal amid the copyright infringement and unfair competition complaints filed by TVJ against the production company and GMA Network. /ra
