Award-winning actor Robert Arevalo dies at 85
Veteran actor Robert Arevalo, whose decades-long career was marked by several critically-acclaimed performances, has died on Thursday, Aug. 10. He was 85.
The actor-director’s death was announced by his eldest child, Anna Ylagan, via a Facebook post.
“Today is the day that the Lord has chosen to take our dearest Papa home. Robert Francisco Ylagan, a.k.a. Robert Arevalo, peacefully passed away at 10:17 A.M. this morning, Aug. 10, 2023,” the TV commercial director-producer said.
“Praise God for His mercy and grace. We are grateful that He has given us the best Papa one can ever wish for. Thank you for loving us the way you did, Pa. Although our hearts are broken, we are comforted by God’s promise that He has a place reserved for you in His kingdom in Heaven where all of us who believe in His son, Jesus, will one day reunite,” shared Ylagan, who is one of Arevalo’s three kids with actress wife Barbara Perez.
Arevalo’s wake is scheduled for the weekend — following his cremation — from Aug. 12 to 13, at 2 P.M.–12 A.M., in Solace Rooms 1 and 2 of the Arlington Memorial Chapels & Crematory on G. Araneta Ave., Quezon City.

More recently known for films such as “Ang Larawan” and “The Healing,” Arevalo and his wife were supposed to celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary on Friday, Aug. 11. EDV
