Maja Salvador, Rambo Nuñez wed in secret before Bali ceremony
Maja Salvador and Rambo Nuñez turned out to have already been married since February of this year, as they wed in a civil ceremony prior to their Bali wedding last July 31.
Salvador made the revelation in an interview with local fashion magazine Preview, saying she and Nuñez have already said “I-do” in a civil wedding held at the Grand Hyatt Manila in Taguig on February 14 of this year.
“Dapat talaga isang beses lang. Pero, since pinili namin to have a destination wedding, hindi kasi [ino-honor] ng Philippines ’yung wedding namin sa Bali (We were supposed to get married just once since we chose to hold a destination wedding. However, the Philippines won’t honor our wedding in Bali),” she said.
The “Wildflower” star then shared that “no more than 60 people” were present on their special day, and they hosted a private dinner party for their relatives and close friends.
“Lalo na ngayon, digital na sobra. May cellphones and all, and everyone can be the paparazzi (Especially now that everything is digital, with cellphones and all. Everyone can be the paparazzi),” she said, confessing that it was “difficult” to keep their secret wedding under wraps.

(When I saw my invitation, gown, shoes, it’s like there’s a feeling that it’s really happening. Rambo said, “I’ll give you the best wedding, your dream wedding.” It’s really happening, he really gave it to me.)
During the interview, Salvador got sentimental as she vowed to be a good mother to her future children. She said she doesn’t want to experience what her mother had been through.
While she has made a name for herself as a skillful and talented actress, she hails from the Salvador clan which boasts of a long line of celebrities for family members. Her mother is Thelma Andres, while her father is the late actor Ross Rival, who was linked to two other women in show business.
“May takot talaga. Pinagpe-pray [ko] na magtuloy-tuloy na ma-bless ako ng isang magandang marriage para hindi ma-experience ng mga anak ko kung ano ’yung na-experience ng mommy ko,” she said.
(I’m scared. I’m praying that I would be blessed with a wonderful marriage so my children wouldn’t experience what my mother had been through.)
The revelation comes a day after Salvador and Nuñez held a grand wedding in Bali, Indonesia, more than a year after their engagement in April 2022. They are set to have their honeymoon in Europe.
The couple was previously in a relationship in 2010, before the actress confirmed that they got back together in March 2019. EDV
