Filipino tandem gets early recognition in new Vietnam twin tilts
MANILA, Philippines—A pair of Filipino contenders in new twin pageants in Vietnam received accolades ahead of tonight’s coronation show.
Michael Angelo Toledo and Kristel Galang, both representing the Philippines, were proclaimed “Best in Sports Wear” in a preliminary competition for the Mister and Miss Fitness Supermodel World held earlier.
Toledo edged out the representatives from the host country, Vietnam, and neighboring Thailand, who finished second and third, respectively, in the male category.
In the female category, Galang was ahead of the delegates from Chinese Taipei and Laos, who finished second and third, respectively.
Toledo also finished third in the male category of the national costume competition, with his modern Lapu-Lapu costume by Allan Camarin Dela Fuente. The delegate is from the province of Cebu.
Article continues after this advertisementToledo had earned the right to represent the Philippines in the Mister Fitness Supermodel World pageant when he was proclaimed as one of the titleholders in the ninth Misters of Filipinas pageant held in October last year.
Article continues after this advertisementGalang, an event host and actress, was appointed by Prime Event Productions Philippines (PEPPS) Foundation Inc., organizer of the Misters of Filipinas pageant, to be Toledo’s partner and carry the country’s colors in the Miss Fitness Supermodel World pageant.
The inaugural edition of the Mister and Miss Fitness Supermodel World competition will be held in Bunh Thuan Province in Vietnam on May 20. /ra
