Kim Chiu returns to ‘It’s Showtime’ as sister Lakam recovers: ‘God is great, powerful’
Kim Chiu expressed gratitude as she returned to the noontime variety show “It’s Showtime,” a few days after her older sister Lakam was discharged from the intensive care unit and had regained consciousness.
Through her Instagram page, the actress-TV host reflected on a lyric of the show’s theme song and how it resonates a deeper meaning after Lakam’s bout with an undisclosed medical condition.
“‘Umulan man o umaraw. Kahit ang dulo ay ‘di matanaw.’ This line hits different now,” she wrote. “Today I am back with my ‘Showtime’ fam, after more than a week of being scared and wary.”
“As the saying goes, ‘There is no limit to what our limitless God will do in response to our limitless faith.’ Thank you God for another day to witness your miracles and blessings,” Kim continued. “God is great, God is powerful. Thank you Lord for healing my ate [Lakam]. Thank you everyone for all the prayers.”

Kim also received words of encouragement from fans, fellow celebrities and “It’s Showtime” hosts via the comments section.
Kim disclosed Lakam’s condition on the actress’ 33rd birthday last April 19, as the former asked fans to include her sister in their prayers. After a few days, Kim then announced that Lakam had been transferred from ICU to a normal room, and finally regained consciousness last April 24. /ra
