Robinsons Malls champions environmental action this Earth Day 2023
Every year, Robinsons Malls amplifies the importance to promote environmental conservation through Earth Day–a global event being celebrated annually since 1970 to raise awareness on the urgent need to protect our planet and preserve its natural resources for future generations. The celebration comes at a very crucial time when industries, governments, and communities need to band together on what is probably one of the world’s most pressing agendas.
This year, Robinsons Malls strengthens its commitment of supporting Earth Day and has prepared a weekend full of meaningful activities for the communities to get together and take action towards a more sustainable future and do their part in caring for the environment.
Everyone can participate with Robinsons Malls’ plastic recovery drive in partnership with Robinsons Supermarket, PHILUSA Corporation, and the Bureau of Plant Industry. Customers can bring their empty plastic bottles and exchange them for treats and perks at the following participating malls: Robinsons Dasmariñas, Robinsons General Trias, Robinsons Imus, Robinsons Cainta, Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Magnolia, Robinsons Manila, Robinsons Antipolo, Robinsons Las Piñas, and Robinsons Starmills. This activity will help reduce plastic waste and make a positive change while enjoying perks such as giveways, supermarket eco-friendly bags, and Movieworld vouchers.
Robinsons Malls will be actively participating in a community cleanup drive happening nationwide in partnership with several local government units.
For those who want to join, volunteers can visit the following malls: Robinsons Palawan, Robinsons Dumaguete, Robinsons Butuan, Robinsons Iligan, Robinsons Tagum, and Robinsons Bacolod.
There will also be a Coastal Cleanup activity in Cordova, Cebu, in partnership with Seed4Com and Robinsons Fuente, Robinsons Cybergate Cebu, and Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
Robinsons GenSan together with the General Santos City Environment and Natural Resources Office as well as Robinsons Bacolod in partnership with Bacolod City Water District will initiate tree planting activities in their chosen locations.
Robinsons Malls is unrelenting in its pursuit towards sustainability. The mall chain already has installed solar panels in its 24 malls nationwide, water recycling facilities, solid waste management programs, Electric Vehicle charging stations, and various mall energy-saving features to reduce its carbon footprint and promote a greener lifestyle for its customers. Recently, Robinsons GenSan received an Award for Excellence during the Annual Energy Efficiency Awards under the auspices of the Department of Energy.
To cap off the Earth Day weekend festivities, Robinsons Malls will set up its regular Recycling Market at Robinsons Novaliches. Shoppers and mallers can also bring their recyclables every last Friday and Saturday of the month.
