Piolo Pascual ‘nervous but excited’ ahead of ‘Ibarra’ staging: ‘It’s time to fulfill this lifelong dream’
Piolo Pascual will be returning to the stage after 30 years as he is set to star as the titular character in “Ibarra,” a stage musical based on Jose Rizal’s novel “Noli Me Tangere.”
The actor showed a poster for the musical as well as a video of himself singing a track from the play while inside a moving vehicle, through his Instagram page on Wednesday, April 12.
“And it’s time to fulfill this lifelong dream. ‘Ibarra’ season starts now,” he said.
“Nervous but definitely excited to go back to theater after 30 years. I hope to share this with you soon,” he continued.

Fellow celebrities Alessandra de Rossi, Joross Gamboa, Jay Gonzaga and Jerald Napoles were among those who expressed their support to Pascual, and are looking forward to seeing the play.
“Ibarra” will be staged on June 8-18 at the GSIS Theater. Other cast members include Myramae Meneses and Jeffrey Hidalgo who will portray the characters of Maria Clara and Elias, respectively.
Aside from this musical, Pascual will also star in the upcoming historical film “GomBurZa” alongside Enchong Dee, Dante Rivero and Cedrick Juan. /ra
