Liza Soberano on meeting Blackpink, doing ‘Lisa Frankenstein’
Controversial actress Liza Soberano described being a part of the Hollywood movie “Lisa Frankenstein” as “the best experience of my life.”
The movie, which puts a fresh spin on the 1821 novel “Frankenstein,” features Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton in the lead.
“It really pushed me to come out of my shell,” Liza said of the movie she shot in September 2022. “I was shy going into it and also intimidated because it was a new environment for me and I was surrounded by Americans. The culture is so much different. I realized that I only had to communicate better with them and find confidence in myself and my capabilities. My coactors actually empowered me. They gave me the confidence that I am actually good, so it was actually newfound confidence.”
‘Different level’
Liza, who is now under James Reid’s talent management company, Careless Music, also got to collaborate with several South Korean celebrities for digital content. She even had the opportunity to meet the K-pop girl group Blackpink.
She recalled the experience during an interview with Inquirer Entertainment: “I met a lot of them, so it’s really hard to choose. I met Blackpink and, obviously, they’re my favorite girl group ever. They’re just so professional, on a different level because they had to train for so many years. They’re so used to living a fast-paced life that everything is kind of automatic to them.”

They’re also very calculated, I should say, like even when I got to meet them, it was during a certain time and certain environment. They had to know who exactly was coming. They’re well taken care of on that level, and the artists themselves are very hardworking and professional.” INQ
