Mystica mourns death of son Stanley just months after grandson’s passing
Singer-actress Mystica is in despair as she expressed her grief over the death of her only son, Stanley Villanueva, last March 19 due to pneumonia, liver cirrhosis, and cardiomyopathy or enlargement of the heart.
The Las Vegas-based star was still mourning over the passing of her grandson Ronby Gangriel Villanueva in October 2022 when news of her son’s death reached her in the United States.
“Hindi ko alam anong gagawin ko,” she said in a series of posts on Facebook. “Ang sakit. Hindi kita nakasama kahit sa huli mong sandali man lang bago ka tuluyang mawala. Ang sakit.” (I don’t know what to do. It hurts. I wasn’t able to be with you during the final moments before you were gone forever. It hurts.)
Mystica also shared that she’s hosting a charity dinner event for her son in Las Vegas, as she asked for financial support for his interment and funeral expenses in a separate post.
Stanley’s wake was held at the St. Peter Chapels in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, according to the singer-actress. However, it appeared that he had already been brought to his final resting place at an undisclosed location, as seen in her post on Sunday, March 26.
“As much as I hate to say to goodbye to you, anak, but I have to let you go. Mas gusto ko pa ‘yung i-post ‘yung mga sandaling nandito ka pa sa’min, nagbibigay ng saya kaysa ‘yung pagpanaw mo (I would rather post about the final moments that you were here with us, bringing us joy, rather than about your death),” Mystica said.
Born as Ruby Rose Villanueva, the singer-actress is known as the “Split Queen” and has appeared in sexy films such as “Querido” and “Pipo.”
One of Mystica’s recent appearances in Filipino showbiz was in the 2020 Cinemalaya short film “Kids on Fire,” where she starred as a teacher at a religious camp. EDV
