Special accessories for Mavy Legaspi and Kyline Alcantara
Sparkle talents Mavy Legaspi and Kyline Alcantara are two of GMA’s bright young things. Following the success of their team up in the prime-time series “I Left My Heart in Sorsogon,” they now play the lead roles in “Zero Kilometers Away,” which started airing last Saturday.
The six-part original digital series produced by GMA Public Affairs follows two childhood friends as they navigate the sometimes funny, sometimes creepy world of online dating.
We asked them what they considered their favorite thing. Kyline chose the gold Cartier ring Mavy gave her for Christmas. “He said it’s a promise ring. He wanted me to know that he wouldn’t break the promises he made to me, and I need to wear it everyday to remind and reassure me.”
The gold ring is actually part of Cartier’s Love collection that includes bracelets and is “a symbol of free-spirited love,” although its “diverse interpretations allow for a unique expression of feelings.”
When she’s not wearing the ring, Kyline keeps it in a special case so it doesn’t get banged up. Despite this, she said it now sports a few scratches. “I’m a bit disappointed with myself, but it’s OK.”

According to the Order of St. Benedict, the medal is “a prayer of exorcism against Satan, for strength in time of temptation, and of peace among ourselves and among the nations of the world…”

Mavy was actually deciding between a love lock he placed at the N Seoul Tower in South Korea and the pendant.
“I’ve been wearing this since I was 14… so eight years now. It was given to me at a time when I moved on from playing tennis, which was my first love. I was playing for the national team and all that, but I had a change of heart and wanted to try acting,” Mavy said.
Ever since he got the pendant, he has felt that it has brought him luck. “Gumaan ang loob ko. I feel like there’s something else waiting just for me, a new chapter yet to unfold. As long as I have it, no matter the ups and downs, I know it could be the start of something better.”
The few times he has taken it off were during basketball games because, he explained, players have to remove any jewelry before stepping onto the court. “I stash the pendant in my sock. It’s brought me luck,” he said. INQ
