Dennis Trillo has embraced his transformation into Don Simoun Ibarra as the hit GMA teleserye “Maria Clara at Ibarra” gives viewers a glimpse into the storyline of “El Filibusterismo.”
The GMA drama, based on the novel “Noli Me Tangere” by the national hero Jose Rizal, teased the storyline of its upcoming second season through its official Facebook page on Monday, Jan. 16, where protagonist Crisostomo Ibarra (Dennis Trillo) gets his revenge through the identity of Simoun.
The teaser showed Trillo donning a long-haired wig as well as a brown and green coat, as he pointed his gun at a mysterious victim.
GMA Drama also shared glimpses of the cast’s fates on Tuesday, Jan. 17, including Klay Infantes (Barbie Forteza) as she attempts to enter the world of “El Filibusterismo,” Maria Clara (Julie Anne San Jose) being raped by Padre Salvi (Juancho Triviño), Fidel (David Licauco) preparing to revolt, and the introduction of Basilio (Khalil Ramos) as a grown-up.

“Maria Clara at Ibarra” tells the story of Klay who gets transported into the setting of Rizal’s novels where she discovers the roots of Philippine history.
The teleserye also stars Manilyn Reynes and Tirso Cruz III, among others. EDV
