A Taguig court has denied for lack of merit the motion for reconsideration filed by model Deniece Cornejo against a previous court order granting bail to comedian-host Ferdinand “Vhong” Navarro who is charged with attempting to rape her. In a three-page order, presiding Judge Loralie Cruz Datahan of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69 said the motion “deserves scant consideration” from the court as there was no conformity from the public prosecutor when Cornejo filed the motion. She also denied Cornejo’s motion to inhibit herself from the case. The judge granted Navarro’s bail petition last month, citing weak prosecution evidence and Cornejo’s inconsistent testimonies. —ANGEL YABUT
