The Lord answered a lot of my prayers recently. I told him “Lord, Christmas is coming. I can work and I do want to go out and work! (laughs) Thankfully, I have a lot of shows this December.

There are shows that some people call “kitang-bibingka.” But for me, there’s no such thing as kitang-bibingka. All the shows or projects that come my way are important. They’re all blessings from God. I don’t want to use phrases like that to describe work because they have negative connotations.

So whether the talent fee is big or small, it’s a blessing. Actually, I’m doing a lot of out-of-town Christmas tree lighting events. I also have a lot of events lined up at Hacienda Isabella (the resort-events place she owns).’

Di tayo pwedeng magmalaki. Our purpose is to bring joy to people. So whatever we can do to make our fellow Filipinos happy this Christmas, let’s do it. Because not a lot of people are in good spirits these days.

I’m excited this year because my mom and sister Arnee, who are now based in Las Vegas, are home for the holiday season. This is their first time here in four years. Arnee will fly back before Christmas, but she is making sure to come with me when I go out. My mom, on the other hand, is staying until the end of the month. We hope to have a big reunion. Half of my family is here and the other half, in the States, so this is the closest we get to being complete in quite a while. I’m excited for them to experience Christmas in the Philippines again.
