House honors ‘legendary music icon’ Danny Javier, sympathizes with his family
MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has adopted House Resolution No. 530, honoring the late Daniel “Danny” Javier of the renowned Filipino musical group APO Hiking Society and expressing condolences to his family.
“Tributes poured in for this legendary music icon who never stopped fighting for what he loved, what he believed in, and what he was passionate about,” states the resolution approved by Speaker Martin Ro,mualdez during Wednesday’s session.
“For his distinguished contribution to Philippine pop music, and for all his songs and compositions, Danny Javier will always be remembered with utmost respect and admiration, and his kind of music will leave a smile on the faces of many Filipinos,” the resolution also notes.
The 75-year-old musician died due to a lingering illness last October 31. His death sparked an outpouring of grief on social media from his family, circle of friends, colleagues in the music and entertainment industry, and fans and followers across generations here and abroad.

House leaders said a copy of the resolution will be furnished to Javier’s family.
