How stars celebrate 2021 holiday season amid COVID-19

How do you plan to celebrate the holidays this year to make it meaningful despite the pandemic?

Jake Ejercito

“I’ve always been hopeful that the [COVID-19] situation will improve. At the same time, I feel that it’s still best that we become more cautious in order to prevent another surge, so that our celebration of Christmas and New Year’s Day will all be happy.

“Last year, my family and I celebrated Christmas far from each other; we did it via Zoom. This is because, in our family, we have a lot of seniors and at the same time, small kids. I think for this year, things will still be the same. It’s better to err on the side of caution.”

Carlos Dala

“We don’t need to go out, swim at the beach, feel the cold fog of Baguio City in order to celebrate any occasion. I believe that enjoying the journey you had with the people close to you is reason enough to celebrate Christmas.

“It is the season of gratefulness. Therefore, I am grateful that we survived the pandemic and that we can still eat mango float with intact taste buds!”

Iyo Canlas

“My family plans to celebrate it like before, with our immediate family members. We will just have our usual family dinner with first cousins, titos and titas. Of course, everyone will get a COVID-19 test before gathering and it will be outdoors in our garden area. We’ve already done it just this month for a birthday party, so hopefully it should work this Christmas.” —Marinel Cruz INQ
