LAURICE Guillen is happy to be acting again. She’s in the cast of “Aryana,” playing a shipping magnate who’s the mother of Tonton Gutierrez. She shares, “I’m happy that at this stage of my career, I’m still given an opportunity to be in touch with new talents. I am amazed at their energy to finish so many sequences in a day, na parang hindi sila marunong mapagod. I love watching teleserye, pero hindi ko kakayaning mag-direct ng ganoon karaming sequences. It is so much easier and so much more fun to act!”

Laurice complimented Pokwang after shooting a confrontation scene. She recalls, “Pokwang plays the wife of my son. She’s poor, kaya ganoon na lamang ang galit ng character ko sa kanya. People think she’s crazy for believing that her daughter is still alive, kaya hiniwalayan s’ya ng anak ko.

“When the scene was over, Pokwang thanked me, and I was touched by her gesture. Puwede kasing gumamit ng double for the scene—but I told direk Lino Cayetano that I would do the scene myself.”
