‘Unforgettable’ dog trainer thanks Sarah, Matteo, more celebs for help after heart attack
Dog trainer Daryl Tristan Huertas expressed his gratitude to celebrities who did not think twice to reach out to him during his time of need.
Huertas, a 31-year-old single dad who lives in Antipolo City, suffered from a heart attack last February. He is known to be the trainer and fur parent of Milo, a Jack Russell Terrier who appeared as Sarah Geronimo’s co-star in the 2019 film “Unforgettable.”
The dog trainer made a call for financial assistance last March 5 after undergoing open-heart surgery. He said then that his hospital bill would go into the millions.
Days after, on March 9, he revealed that stars personally asked him how they could help. These included Geronimo and her husband Matteo Guidicelli, John Arcilla, Kim Molina and her partner Jerald Napoles.
Huertas included personal messages he got from them, and praised them for their kindness.
“Isa [‘to] sa mga nagpalakas [sa ‘kin] ng loob, hindi ko binilang kung ano ang bingay nilang tulong… ang mahalaga dito [iyong] effort at pag-aalala na binigay nila sa katulad nating simpleng tao,” he said.

“Ang mga taong [‘to] ay mga [nakatrabaho] namin at talaga naman dog lover kaya kami nagkaroon ng magandang komunikasyon,” he added.
(These people worked with us and really are dog lovers which is why we have good communication.)
“[Ito iyong] mga taong sikat na pero ang mga paa ay nanatiling nasa lupa, sobrang thank [you] talaga pagpalain po kayo ng Panginoon.”
(These are famous people but whose feet remain on the ground. Thank you so much and may God bless you.)
Huertas is on his way to recovery and revealed last Friday, March 12 that his medical expenses had racked up to P2.3 million.
“Sobrang hirap ng pinagdaanan ko dito… emotionally, physically at financially damaged talaga ako,” he said.
(What I have gone through is so difficult… I am truly emotionally, physically and financially damaged.)
He also encouraged his supporters, whom he fondly calls “ka-Milo,” to take care of their health: “Tandaan [n’yo] pera lang [iyan].. kikitain natin [iyan]… alagaan natin ang sarili natin pls.”
(Remember that is just money… we can earn that… let us take care of ourselves, please.)
