Charlene Gonzales, Aga Muhlach proud of twins for finishing high school amid COVID-19

Actors Charlene Gonzales and Aga Muhlach expressed how proud they are of their twins Atasha and Andres for finishing high school despite the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 crisis.
While schools are suspended and mass gatherings such as graduation rites are prohibited, the Muhlach family attended the twins’ virtual graduation rites at home, as seen on Gonzales’ Instagram Stories yesterday, May 22.
Atasha and Andres were both enrolled in Brent International School Manila.

The proud mom also penned a special message for her twins via her Instagram account on the same day. Gonzales accompanied her separate posts with photos of Atasha and Andres.
Gonzales said that the twins’ years of hard work have finally paid off. She added that graduation or not, she and Aga celebrate their children every day for being “kind-hearted” and “God-fearing” individuals.
“Although, you may have not physically walked across the stage for the graduation ceremony due to the global pandemic, it does not take away the many years of [sacrifice, perseverance,] defeats, victories [and] life lessons you’ve learned [and] continue to learn during your school life [and] life in general,” she said.

The former beauty queen also addressed the graduating batch of 2020 as she said: “[You] belong to a special graduation batch that will be forever remembered for their courage, resilience and strength[.] Congratulations to you all and continue to inspire and be inspired.”

Similarly, actors and real-life couple Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo celebrated their youngest daughter Luna’s moving up ceremony in the confines of their home.
Meanwhile, the Department of Education (DepEd) plans to start the next school year by August 24. DepEd clarified that this does not necessarily mean students have to physically report at school as online classes are also taken into consideration.
A lawmaker, however, opposed the department’s plan, saying that classes should not resume until the threat of COVID-19 is over or until the vaccine is available. /ra
