Memorable ‘Visita’
Last Wednesday, 19 former flight attendants of Philippine Airlines embarked on a seven-church Visita Iglesia, organized by Christy Romero Altura, Greta Lauron and Marl Mendoza. We began the first two readings at the 400-year-old Immaculate Concepcion church in Los Baños, Laguna, that has been turned into a shrine.
At UPLB’s St. Therese Chapel, we did the third and fourth readings using the reflections and prayers of Neomi T. Olivares. We then visited the parish church of San Isidro Labrador in Calauan, after which we had lunch. We proceeded to Nagcarlan, whose church is made up of red bricks. We sang our prayers at the chapel of the underground cemetery.

We also visited the St. John the Baptist Church in Liliw. We held hands as we sang our prayers. We had a wonderful ride to Majayjay, as we enjoyed the lush foliage on both sides of the road. The St. Gregory the Great Church, built centuries ago, has a breathtaking retablo.
Our seventh church was the Our Lady of Guadalupe in Pagsanjan. Our experience was heightened when a guide took us to another chamber that housed an altar of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Her statue is unmatched in beauty and grandeur.
