Janine Gutierrez on how she supported her boyfriend, Rayver Cruz, whose mother, Beth, died of pancreatic cancer last month:

“I just made sure to always be there for him. It helps that Rayver and his brothers (Omar and actor Rodjun Cruz) were solid,” she told reporters at a press con for her new fantasy series, “Dragon Lady.”

Rayver’s mother, Janine said, was one of the kindest people she has met. “It was after knowing her that I realized why Rayver and Rodjun are such good people—they take after their mom.”

“I remember her asking for my and Rayver’s baby photos so she could make a collage out of them. So cute!” she added. “She bought me shoes one time, because she was also super kikay.” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
