Four months after her revelation that she was diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis), Selma Blair attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party in a flowing Ralph and Russo caped gown and a customized cane.

Pertaining to a photo of herself in the elegant ensemble on Instagram, the “Cruel Intentions” actress wrote, “When my life flashes before my eyes, I want this portrait by [Mark Seliger] to be front and center.”

In another photo, Blair was with her manager Troy Nankin, who held her hand and assisted her at the event. “I felt the love from the photographers who have watched me goof around on red carpets since I was in my 20s,” said the actress, whose autoimmune disease disrupts the central nervous system’s ability to communicate with the body.

“Thank you, Troy. We got me just where I wanted to be. For a night,” Blair gratefully said.

More recently, she posted a video to support a movement aimed at helping the endangered Leuser Ecosystem in Indonesia. Blair was assisted in reading her spiel by producer David Lyons.

Reacting to the video, fans and fellow celebrities, including singer Debbie Gibson, comic Kathy Griffin and actresses Debra Messing, Lori Petty, Zoe Saldana and Abbie Cornish, expressed love and support for Blair.

“I’m pretty much a nobody in Hollywood,” she told Vanity Fair in a new interview. “But when I read comments on Instagram from people who were suffering, whether it was from MS, or anything, I thought, ‘Holy sh*t, there’s a need for honesty about being disabled from someone recognizable.”

Blair added that she was “happy” and would continue acting:  “There’s no tragedy for me.”—OLIVER PULUMBARIT
