HOLLYWOOD — Here are the nominees in the main categories for this year’s Oscars, to be handed out at the climax of Hollywood’s annual awards season on Sunday.

Also included is a list of the most nominated films.

Best picture: “War Horse,” “The Artist,” “Money Ball,” “The Descendants,” “The Tree of Life,” “Midnight in Paris,” “The Help,” “Hugo,” “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.”

Best director: Michel Hazanavicius for “The Artist,” Alexander Payne for “The Descendants,” Terrence Malick for “The Tree of Life,” Woody Allen for “Midnight in Paris,” Martin Scorsese for “Hugo.”
