The internet is once again debating a conundrum, and this time it involves legendary children’s television show Sesame Street.

Some people are convinced the F-word was indeed uttered, making the sentence sound like “Yes, yes, that’s a f***ing excellent idea!” Others embrace the more wholesome possibility of Grover actually saying “Yes, yes, that sounds like an excellent idea!”

J.D. Durkin from business and tech website Cheddar tweeted the video, “The new Yanni v. Laurel? — some people swear they hear Grover saying, ‘that’s a f**king excellent idea.’ I’m one of those people and I can’t stop laughing.”

Some were understandably baffled, like Twitter user Rob Marmet, who said, “I hear Grover swearing. I don’t believe Grover actually swore. I’m confused and will need some time with my thoughts as I try to figure this out.”

The Huffington Post reported that the clip originated from Redditor u/schrodert that posted the clip on Thursday to the platform’s r/funny subreddit.

Another user, who goes by the handle @clarkiephoto, stressed that this was no small matter, tweeting, “I know there’s lots of serious news out there, but Grover is dropping F-bombs on Sesame Street. I feel this is newsworthy and symptomatic of the current state of the nation.” (wng)
