Ethel Booba is no stranger to cracking clever witticisms and flippant remarks unfailingly. It’s what she does for a living as a comedian, after all. The tides have turned and these days, simply arguing about politics seems to have become pedestrian, especially when you have jesters such as Ethel who throws shade after shade in the most tongue-in-cheek way possible — each topped off with a signature “Charot!

Mocha Uson, Assistant Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), made a Facebook poll last Feb. 25 during the commemoration of the 32nd EDSA People Power Revolution.

FEATURED STORIES

In the poll, Uson asked her fellow diehard Duterte supporters a yes-or-no question: “Naniniwala ba kayo na ang 1986 EDSA PEOPLE POWER ay isang produkto ng FAKE NEWS???” (Do you believe that the 1986 EDSA People Power is a product of fake news?)

Her poll amassed 13,980 votes, with 74 percent voting “yes” and 26 percent voting “no.”

Ethel Booba, however, didn’t stop there. Although she didn’t drop any names, she tweeted again, saying, “Dapat bago makapagcreate ng @facebook account may exam. Papakitaan sila ng news then identify kung fake or legit. Kapag bumagsak di pwede create account. Charot!”

(There should be an exam before one can create a Facebook account. They should be shown news and identify if it is fake or legit. If they fail, they should not be allowed to create an account. Charot!)

Ethel sure knows her charotisms. JB
