Linkin Park’s new music video released minutes before Chester Bennington’s death

Linkin Park’s ever-growing evolution in the music industry was in full display in its studio album “One More Light” released last May.

The band seemed to be as upbeat as ever, up until news of lead vocalist Chester Bennington’s apparent suicide on Thursday (Friday in Manila).

Shortly before Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda confirmed the tragic news on Twitter, the band released a music video for their single “Talking to Myself.”

According to The Independent, the video was released at 9:01 a.m. (Pacific Time), just minutes before Bennington’s lifeless body was found inside his residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles, California.

The almost four-minute clip featured tidbits of the bands’ numerous performances during tours around the world.

The video also highlighted Bennington at his best—performing in front of thousands of fans who could relate to his powerful voice and emotional lyricism.

In a fitting manner, the video also ends with Bennington walking away from the microphone.

Less than 24 hours after its initial posting on YouTube, “Talking to Myself” has already amassed over 6 million views. RA
