Cloak and Dagger jump to the small screen

While it doesn’t look like characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s spinoff TV shows will be appearing on the big screen any time soon, more shows are set to expand that fragmented live-action universe.

One of them is “Cloak and Dagger,” to be released next year on Freeform (formerly ABC Family), about a duo of teen-runaways-turned-super-vigilantes. Aubrey Joseph plays Tyrone/Cloak, who has a connection to a mysterious dark energy, while Olivia Holt’s Tandy/Dagger character has the power to project light “knives.”

In the comics, Cloak and Dagger use their powers to protect New York’s runaways and other innocent people from criminal elements. —OLIVER PULUMBARIT
