Aside from bringing life to the Avengers’ biggest adversary, Thanos, Josh Brolin is slated to appear as another enigmatic Marvel figure, Cable.

In preparation for his upcoming role alongside Deadpool (played by Ryan Reynolds), the 49-year-old American actor has been spending a lot of time in the gym and is looking to be in the best shape ever in his entire life.

Brolin took to Instagram to show off his progress with a a series of videos and photos that highlight his much-improved physique.

Nearing 50 years old, the seasoned actor even bared some of his diet regime.

“Totally clean: no sugar, no breads, no pastas, no drugs, none of it. Fish, rice, eggs, veggies, water, one @bulletproof or @cavemancoffeeco in the morning,” he captioned his video.

“I’m almost 50. It’s a different time: our access along with some big picture discipline results in always surprising milestones. Get on the train,” he added.

His character, meanwhile, is the biological son of Cyclops and a Jean Grey clone, who happens to be traveling from the future.
