The two-minute-and-fifteen-seconds clip starts with the young girl Laura (Dafney Keen) stealing from a convenience store and assaulting its clerk. Before things escalate even further, an older and more rugged-looking Logan comes to her rescue and tells her its “not okay,” before hilariously stealing some cigars on the way out.

The ageing and noticeably frail Charles Xavier a.k.a. Professor X (Patrick Stewart) also returns in the trailer, alongside the film’s villain Donald Pierce played by “Narcos” star Boyd Holbrook.

Pierce, along with his cyborg group of minions called Reavers, embark on a mission to capture Laura. A chase then ensues between the two parties.

True to its R-rated theme, the clip’s battle scenes displayed a more graphic level of carnage, compared with the considerably toned down treatments in previous X-Men and Wolverine films.

The adamantium-infused mutants also partnered up in an epic forest scene and hacked their way through a number of heavily armed adversaries.

Meanwhile, the last Wolverine movie, which is based on the Marvel comic arc Old Man Logan, marks the final hurrah in the X-Men series for both Jackman and Stewart, who first starred together in the original film way back in 2000.

“Logan” is slated for a March 1 release in the U.K., and opens on March 3 in the U.S. and other countries. Khristian Ibarrola
