Opera Artists in Music Thriller

Lara Maigue, Jay Valencia Glorioso and Jon Abella lead the cast of THE MEDIUM – Gian Carlo Menotti’s musical thriller staged by MUSICARTES on November 11,13,16 & 18 at the Mirror Theatre Studio in Makati.

Director Leo Rialp conceives an exciting version for Musicartes’ OPERA INTIMA dramatic series, also featuring Margarita Roco, Ronaldo Abarquez and Stephanie Aguilar with pianist Dingdong Fiel, under the music direction of renowned tenor Arthur Espiritu. Set design is by Ohm David with D. Cortezano as Lighting Designer, and photography by Jojit Lorenzo.

First presented in New York in 1947, The Medium also ran on Broadway’s Barrymore Theater. Menotti directed a “film noir” version in 1951 to reach a global audience. This dark drama is a play of ideas, the fascination with the occult, psychic and supernatural world versus reality, innocence, truth and God.
