Baron Geisler says fight with Matos ‘humbling,’ feels like winner
FEELING like a winner, actor Baron Geisler on Wednesday said his recently concluded fight with Kiko Matos in URCC Fight Night which ended in a draw was a “humbling experience.”
In an interview with Radyo Inquirer’s Showbiz Live, Geisler lauded Matos for putting up a good fight.
“Props to Kiko dahil he landed a lot of punches. Somehow I think sa second round nakahinga ako. Hindi naman nakalamang, pero I survived. Para sa akin panalo na ako dahil na-survive ko ‘yun. Maraming mga tao na gustong makapasok sa ring, mga lisensyado,” Geisler said.
“It’s a very humbling experience and ‘yung ego namin talagang mawawala,” he added.
Despite the draw, Geisler said he felt a winner for lasting throughout the match against a younger opponent.
“The realization nag set-in na during training na… ‘Oh my God, bakit ko pinasok ‘to, this is real, wala nang atrasan,’” Geisler said.

“Tinawagan niya ako. Basta sabi ko lang after this ayusin na natin, basta wag lang lumaki ulo. We should stay humble,” he said.
Geisler and Matos’ rivalry started when the two got involved in an altercation at a bar in Quezon City. YG
