Richard Marx, now and forever
WHILE Richard Marx delivered a rather short, 14-song set in his recent Manila concert, it was one that easily brought the rapt crowd at the Kia Theatre down memory lane.
Dressed in an all-black ensemble and armed with an acoustic guitar, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter played some of his most popular soft rock hits and romantic ballads like “Endless Summer Nights,” “Hazard,” “Now and Forever” and “Right Here Waiting,” with which he ended the show mounted by Midas Promotions.
The American music artist, who described Filipinos as “really good singers,” likewise regaled fans with songs that he composed for or with other singers—some of which came as a surprise to many: “Dance with My Father” with the late Luther Vandross; and “This I Promise You” by the 1990s boy band, N’Sync.
