Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds, the star of the raunchy superhero movie “Deadpool,” has treated a cancer-stricken fan to an advance screening of the movie.
In a post on his Facebook account, Reynolds said that about six weeks ago, he went to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to visit Connor McGrath whom he said is the “biggest Deadpool fan.”
“Ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls. This is my friend, Connor McGrath. He’s quite possibly the biggest #Deadpool fan on earth. He was also the first person ever to see the Deadpool film. Like Wade Wilson, Connor’s trying to put cancer in his rearview mirror,” Reynolds said.
The 39-year-old actor said that McGrath is “the funniest, potty-mouthed Canadian mercenary” that he has met.
In the post, he urged fans to donate to a crowdsourcing website intended for the recovery of McGrath.

“He’s my friend. I know lots of celebrities jump up and down touting a cause — and maybe I’m no different. But holy frozen shit-slivers, I love this kid. He’s the GREATEST. And he needs your help to get well. I’ve donated to help Connor and I hope you will too,” Reynolds said.
As of this writing, they have already achieved $31,987 out of their target $800,000.
Deadpool’s opening weekend in the US reached $135 million. It’s currently showing in Philippine theaters. AJH
