‘Brooklyn’ opens on Jan. 27

THE PROFOUNDLY moving period drama, “Brooklyn,” will be screened exclusively in Ayala Mall cinemas starting Jan. 27. Saoirse Ronan plays an Irish immigrant, Eilis Lacey, who must choose between two men, two countries and two destinies.

Ronan has already won best actress honors at the British Independent Film Awards, New York Film Critics Circle and Hollywood Film Awards.
Spring Film Festival

The 10th Spring Film Festival will soon be held at the Shangri-La Plaza cineplex, with a wonderful lineup of acclaimed movies from China. Past editions of the festival have been very rewarding, so film buffs are urged to patronize its 2016 offerings.
